The Canada Excellence Research Chair (CERC) in Light–Matter Interactions is pleased to highlight the upcoming Institut Courtois Grande Conférence 2026, which will take place on October 22–23, 2026, at the Université de Montréal.
This international conference will gather leading experts around the theme:
“Multiscale Molecular and Hybrid Materials: Microstructure, Excitons, and Many‑Body Dynamics.”
The CERC team is proud to actively participate in this flagship event, led by Prof. Carlos Silva, Director of the Institut Courtois, whose vision continues to shape the institute’s scientific direction and international impact.
The conference will feature a keynote lecture by:
- Prof. Sir Richard Friend (Cavendish Laboratory, University of Cambridge)
Invited speakers include:
- Prof. Natalie Stingelin (Georgia Tech)
- Prof. Aram Amassian (NC State University)
- Prof. Christine Luscombe (Okinawa Institute of Science and Technology)
📅 Program Overview
- October 22 – Student Symposium (oral presentations, flash talks, and networking) – MIL Campus
- October 23 – Scientific talks and poster session – Roger‑Gaudry Pavilion
This conference represents a key opportunity for the CERC community to engage with cutting-edge research in molecular and hybrid materials, with strong connections to our work in light–matter interactions, quantum materials, and ultrafast spectroscopy.
Beyond its scientific scope, the event highlights the importance of international collaboration, knowledge exchange, and the integration of diverse perspectives, contributing to a dynamic and inclusive research environment.
