The Canada Excellence Research Chair (CERC) in Light–Matter Interactions will be represented at the 13th International Conference of the African Materials Research Society (AMRS 2026), taking place in Nairobi, Kenya, from December 7–10, 2026. The conference is expected to bring together researchers, innovators, and industry leaders from around the world to discuss advances in materials science and technology.
Professor Carlos Silva has been invited to contribute to the scientific program as an invited speaker, recognizing his internationally renowned expertise in advanced materials and optoelectronics. In addition, a member of the CERC in Light–Matter Interactions team will participate in the conference, further strengthening the Chair’s engagement with the global materials research community.
Under the theme“Materials Science and Innovation: Driving Sustainable Development and Socio-Economic Transformation in Africa,” AMRS 2026 will showcase research spanning a wide range of topics, including nanotechnology, energy materials, artificial intelligence in materials science, biomaterials, quantum materials, and advanced optoelectronic materials.
