Geometric thermodynamics in open quantum systems: Coherence, curvature, and work

The Canada Excellence Research Chair in Light‑Matter Interactions is pleased to congratulate Professor Eric Bittner on the publication of his latest article in the Journal of Chemical Physics.

In this work, Professor Bittner introduces innovative ideas from geometric thermodynamics applied to open quantum systems, offering new insights into system–bath interactions and their measurable effects through quasi-static transport processes. This contribution represents an important advancement in the field and opens new avenues for future research.

As a valued external collaborator of the Canada Excellence Research Chair in Light‑Matter Interactions, Professor Bittner works closely with our team and continuously contributes to our research activities. We are proud to celebrate this achievement and look forward to the continued impact of his work and our ongoing collaboration.
