Quantum Frontiers in Molecular Science 2027

January 4 - January 8

The CERC in Light-Matter Interactions (CERC-LM) is pleased to announce that Carlos Silva, Canada Excellence Research Chair in Light-Matter Interactions at the Université de Montréal, will participate in the 5th Workshop on Quantum Frontiers in Molecular Science (QFMS 2027), to be held in Mexico City, Mexico, from January 4 to 8, 2027.

This year’s workshop, themed Quantum Molecular Design, will bring together leading theorists and experimentalists to explore how molecular structure can be engineered to create novel functionalities for quantum sensing, quantum information processing, and advanced quantum materials. The event aims to foster interdisciplinary collaborations at the interface of chemistry, physics, materials science, and quantum technologies.

As an invited speaker, Prof. Carlos Silva will contribute to discussions on emerging frontiers in quantum materials and spectroscopic approaches to understanding complex quantum phenomena. His participation reflects the growing international recognition of the research led by the CERC-LM in the fields of light-matter interactions and quantum materials.

Hosted by the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM), the workshop will feature a week of scientific presentations, discussions, and networking opportunities in the historic district of Coyoacán, one of Mexico City’s cultural landmarks.

Event Highlights

  • International speakers at the forefront of quantum molecular science;
  • Interdisciplinary discussions linking theory and experiment;
  • Opportunities for collaboration among researchers in quantum science and molecular design;
  • Dedicated sessions on quantum materials, quantum information, and molecular engineering;
  • Social and networking activities throughout the week.
