Emerging Phenomena in the Strong Light-Matter Coupling Regime
06/10/2024 – 06/14/2024
Meeting Description:Modern quantum technology has pushed the light-matter interaction strength to the strong, or even ultra-strong coupling regime, which has been successfully demonstrated in experimental platforms including intense laser systems, superconducting qubits, optomechanical systems, NV centers, cold atoms in optical lattices, and optical or plasmonic cavities. The strong light-matter coupling not only offers unprecedented opportunities for creating and controlling novel quantum states, but also presents new challenges: how to discover, interpret, and predict emerging phenomena unique in this regime.

The purpose of this workshop is to bring together leading researchers from chemistry, physics, materials sciences, quantum optics and quantum technology to discuss recent advances in strong light-matter interactions, with a particular focus on issues that are at the interface between experiment and theory. This workshop is intended to provide a unique platform for researchers to exchange ideas on the frontiers of this research area and facilitate collaborations between theorists and experimentalists from diverse backgrounds.
